“The nerve of some people! I’m offended. I’ve been accused” Annie brought her hand to her chest dramatically. “You come into my home and dare make such ridiculous assumptions. I have never been more insulted in my life!” There was a gentle pause before she admitted defeat. “I’m just messing with you. Yup. I’ve never been deader. You’ll have to forgive me though, I’m bored out of my mind”

there was nothing more entertaining to a ghost than to listen to other people unload their problems. or at least to her kind of ghost. she didn’t get much thrill on the whole haunting thing, just wasn’t her cup of tea. especially not after how horribly her first attempt had been. it was nice to talk to someone, anyone for that matter after she had been alone for so long. it didn’t matter what they said or what their problems were, it just felt nice to feel alive again. “yes. it’s the eyes. they’re the heart of the truth. there is no amount of pretending in the world that the eyes can’t expose. but i don’t think that’s a bad thing, you know? being tired and all. it just means that you’ve still got some fight left in you. that you’re still alive in there and that my friend is something that i personally wouldn’t trade for the world.”
