UM Motorcycles, which is planning to take on the likes of #Royal Enfield’s Thunderbird 350 and 500, with the new #Renegade Commando cruiser is likely to price the new models between Rs 150,000 and Rs 175,000, according to Auto Car Professional. UM Motorcycles will begin its India journey with the launch of three models from its Renegade series- #Commando, #Sport S and #Classic.

All three models of #Renegade series of cruiser motorcycles will come powered by single-cylinder, water-cooled, 280cc engine, which can churn out 25bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 21.8Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm, with a six-speed transmission.

The company will open the bookings of new models on 3 February after the unveiling at the auto show and the deliveries are expected to commence by the end of March. The new motorcycles are brought out with 60% localisation at present, adds the report.

#UM Motorcycles, in a partnership with the UP-based Lohia Auto, has invested Rs 100 crore for business expansion. The latter’s Kashipur facility in Uttarakhand is being utilised by the joint venture firm with an installed capacity to produce 1 lakh two-wheelers and 40,000 three-wheelers annually. The company is currently in the process of appointing dealers in the country.
