My weird Raditz headcanon comes from the inconsistencies in his beefiness from his initial appearance.
So I headcanon that while he's indeed a great warrior and has good control of his power, he's also constantly "flexing" his ki to make his muscles look bigger. Like maybe it started out as him wanting to have the same intimidation factor as Nappa and Vegeta (if they ever appeared that way to Frieza Force higher ups) but then he was doing it just to look big and scary to those weaker to him.
So while he moves really fast, hits really hard, and pretty flexible, his actual ki charge and release has some delay due to where he's forcing it through his body while trying to channel it for an attack.
Just using this as a visual representation of what i mean!
He's still big and beefy af when he's not doing it of course but he'll sacrifice his leaner look for a more threatening presence.
That's insane but at the same time makes so much sense.
Kinda like the 'beyond super saiyan' (or super saiyan second grade i think it was also another name) thing that happened during the cell saga, right?
It'd be logical that he'd want to appear more intimidating that way since he's supposedly the weakest one between him, Nappa and Vegeta. It obviously wouldn't benefit him in the long run, I wonder if he knew he couldn't really fight if he was constantly using his ki like that.
I never actually considered this, but i'm intrigued now π
