Random but I wanted to share because I know you'll have opinions. My issue with the femslash revolution (which I am all for) is that it doesn't get you notes. I'm a small blog and I'm neurodivergant. When I write HCs it's stressful, I guess...
...It takes a lot of energy and motivation, but I love to do it and will continue doing it. The notes I get on my HCs make it worth it, in my opinion. They validate it, which is something I rely on...
...If I write a wolfstar HC - fun but not my favourite - I can get 180 notes. But I wrote a flonks HC earlier, and its got 15 notes in the time wolfstar would get me 50+. Which is the issue with femslash...
...Unless you are a big blog, or it's Linny or Pansmione, its not worth it in terms of notes. So unless that can change, femslash is going to stay a bigger-blog thing. And that's not going to change until femslash is normalised.
This is actually the perfect example of why the femslash revolution needs to happen. We canât keep expecting things to slowly change, for femslash to slowly get recognition until maybe, hopefully one year far in the future a femslash ship can become equal to something like wolfstar. But honestly, without a push this will never happen. Femslash just wonât reach a huge level without a push. We are that push.Â
And youâre right, itâs hard for smaller blogs to commit time and effort and creative drive into something that wonât be as appreciated. I commend you for continuing to do it. And for Fleur/Tonks, (I refer to it as Flora not Flonks personally) it is one of my OTPâs, right up there with Loveley (Luna/Ginny).Â
I know I should be all modest or whatever and say you shouldnât worry about notes so much, screw that you put so much work into something you want it to be appreciated and I know that itâs even more annoying when you know the reason itâs not getting notes is just because itâs femslash. Please tag me in anything else you make and keep up the good work.
My goal of the femslash revolution is to make people more open to it, therefor more people willing to reblog and ship femslash, bringing up notes as more and more original content makes its way into the fandom. Itâs going to take a lot of working together of both âbigâ and âsmallâ Harry Potter blogs to get this to work.Â
Iâm seriously considering making a network blog that anyone can join where they can reblog their femslash original content to, that way everything gains much more notes and there is an open Harry Potter femslash community. What are your thoughts?Â
