time with callie was incredible to alice, getting to be there and experience the moments with her. her wonder and excitement, seeing her bond so tightly with egon and even the entire firehouse has brought a smile to her face almost every moment she’s sharing the room with them. she had been smiling when she looked down to see the little girl, bringing her up to her hip and kissed her forehead. “ thank you, sweet girl, “ she brushed some of the curls from her face.

    elsa  hums  softly  as  she  gently  combs  through  her  niece’s  sopping  wet  hair,  fingers  softly  massaging  the  little  girl’s  very  tender  head.  when  she  hands  the  peanut  over  to  her  parents  on  monday,  elsa  is  going  to  have  a  long  talk  with  laura  about  her  method  of  the  child’s  hair  care.  for  now,  they  were  to  enjoy  a  rare  instance  of  girl  time,  and  elsa  decides  to  leave  her  dislike  out  of  it.

    “ now,  dovie,  “  the  nickname  is  said  with  a  soft,  fond  smile,  “ you,  me,  and  your  daddy  have  different  hair  than  your  mother’s.  your  mother  has  straight  hair,  and  its  thin.  we  have...well,  we  have  the  opposite.  we  can’t  just  drag  a  brush  through  it.  we  have  to  do  things  differently,  okay? “

    she  approaches  the  browning  plant  that  lives  by  the  entrance  of  the  basement.  this  is  one  of  her  wards,  meant  to  help  trap  the  negative  energy  coming  from  the  containment  unit.  this  is  also  the  safest  one  she  can  let  callie  around.

    “  now,  what  i  do:  that’s  some  important  stuff.  you  see  my  little  delilah  here? “  she  sets  the  little  lady  down,  kneeling  at  the  sad  looking  plant,  at  callie’s  height,  “ the  ghosts  down  there  are  really  mad.  like,  all  the  time.  so,  i  have  to  put  up  little  magical  nets  to  catch  those  angry  feelings.  they’ll  start  to  hurt  us  if  i  don’t.  poor  delilah  here  is  one  of  those  nets.  see  how  her  leaves  are  turning  brown?  that  means  she’s  getting  sick,  but  that  also  means  she’s  keeping  us  from  getting  sick. “

    she  pulls  a  flask  with  an  odd  looking  symbol  on  it  filled  with  enchanted  water  out  of  her  pocket,  “ but  this’ll  fix  her  right  up.  it  also  helps  to  tell  her  what  a  good  job  she’s  doing  keeping  us  safe. “

    she  offers  the  flask  to  callie,  nodding  toward  the  plant,  “  want  to  do  the  honors?  you  just  pour  the  water  on  her  roots,  then  tell  her  she’s  doing  a  good  job,  and  how  pretty  she  is.  “
