Nasrallah gazed into his eyes. There was a strange green glow to them and Orland felt himself seized by the woman’s magic.

“I charge you, Orland Olmeas…” Nasrallah intoned, “…with babysitting my child.”

“...babysitting?” Orland asked.

“Yes.” Nasrallah stepped back, “It is the most important task I may give you. It may be the most important task you complete in your life.”

“Babysitting?” Orland said, “Babysitting is the most important task I’m going to do in my life?” He folded his arms, “You don’t have very high hopes for me, do you?”

“You’re at Edgewood. I don’t have high hopes for anyone here.”

Orland’s shoulders slumped. He was getting the feeling he was spending his time less at a magical school and more at an asylum for everyone who had been rejected from more proper facilities.

“Will I at least get paid?” he sighed.

“Of course.” Nasrallah said.
