This evening, we (The Sanctuaries - Washington, DC) did a live art show, including poetry, singing, painting and calligraphy at Reimagining Interfaith event in The George Washington University, Washington, District of Columbia. Reimagine Interfaith is a global event supporting activists and leaders working together in the face of fear to connect with people across faiths and strengthen activist skills. The live painting is a collaboration between the the amazing artist Vy Vu and I. The poem in Arabic reads: كالشمس تعيش ضمائرنا ... ونحب الفرحة لسوانا نتســابق والاكــرم فيـــنا ... إنسان يبني الإنسانا “Like the sun, our consciousness lives. And we love happiness for all others.
