My top ships have changed over the 13 years I've been playing Bruce on this hellsite. But my favourites all come from the amateur days when people used 500px gifs in their threads and no one thought about cutting their threads. When we had the most random encounters and crossovers and no one put more effort into RPing than I do into my life. It was an entire era of my life... I was a completely different person in 2012-2015...
The only one that has remained in the #1 position is WonderBat. Bruce and Diana has always been one of my favourites, and for the longest time it's been my #1 just because so many others have died out in the fandom.
I tolerate BatCat, but it isn't my favourite. I feel they are terrible together most of the time, Bruce and Huntress on the other hand... Obviously, I mean Bertinelli, the OG. An old partner got me into that pairing, especially after No Man's Land and Hush, but obviously, the elephant in the room, no one seems to know who the fuck Helena is these days, and when she is around, they use Helena Wayne instead... which sucks...
But speaking of the Birds of Prey, Bruce and Dinah! Again, like many of my preferences, this goes back to the old days on here, when people actually RP'd these characters and I actually had a Canary to RP with, and we had hundreds of notes on our threads, as opposed to like 12 notes and a thread stopping the night it starts. Though I did get burnt one time because someone didn't want to multi-ship, so they had Dinah break Bruce's heart and confess she cheated, and I was like "I will never emotionally recover from this".
And if that doesn't sound wierd enough, Bruce and Supergirl or Power Girl. I'll lump them together, but this once again, goes back to the good old days when we didn't have movies or TV to go off of, and everyone was using the comic versions of these characters. Thinking about this makes me sad because I miss all these ships... I feel like and old man reminicing of "back in my day". I've had a few Kara's, and one very good Karen that I miss very much. Like, I still remember some of their URL's. This post got me depressed thinking about how much everything has changed since then.
I can't think of any DC ones that aren't absurd, most of them have been sparse because characters like Dove, or crossovers like Psylocke or Black Cat have don't have blogs most of the time. But I genuinely think if I didn't include Natasha Romanoff, @xnxthinglastsfxrever might hunt me down and beat me with a shoe. She's also been my mutual for longer than anyone I can think of that's still active.
Shout out for @reignofthemuses ! I love their entire gallery of muses! I equally love how fun they are, and how talented they are with their writing! Everyone should at least take one chance to check them out and ask about their day !
