Send ‘🎵’ for my muse to sing the last song the mun has heard.Song: A Stutter — Olafur Arnalds
“The sun is old on waterYearling flakes keep whirling by‘Carry me, me awry’.”
Another nightmare had PLAGUED the young child’s mind, causing her to sneak into the Matriarch’s office when noticing the lamp was still on. Tears were clearly visible in the little one’s eyes and without any words being exchanged, Suyin almost instinctively got up from her chair, crossed the floor and walked over to Kuvira’s side followed by kneeling down in front of her.
“Collapsing breaths discoverTurning hope, new-boarded highsReceding howls dew the skies.”
Protective arms opened up, ENGULFING a shaking frame, pulling the broken child close, and cradling Kuvira against her chest. Soothing, like she’d done so many times before, offering love and acknowledgement when nightmares spoke a different story.
“Closing eyes recoverAmber light in wintry bed‘Can you pull me under the cold, charred sea?’”
Smaller arms responded by wrapped around the custodian’s neck, sobbing into the soft fabric of her shirt as Suyin lifted her up and walked over to the couch. Just like she’d lulled her own children to sleep when they were merely newborsn, the Matriarch gently rocked the little girl from side to side, HUMMING a familiar tune.
“Whispered words of summerFallen ode, a bawling blessSerenades the water and carries me anew.”
Suyin wanted the little girl to feel safe, and despite the fact that she KNEW it would take time before Kuvira would fully trust her, if she ever even would, the PATRON was willing to offer whatever her daughter needed. Today,it was a tight embrace and reassurance, along with a voice to chase the NIGHTMARES away.
“In softest air, a stutterSteers the heart away from the baneLeaves the lasting sorrow and carries me anew.”
