Photographers I follow

As I was browsing through my instagram accounts I noticed a pattern. The majority of those that I follow come from particular areas that can be grouped into three: Turkey and Iran, Southwest United States and Central Europe: Hungary, Poland and Germany. I wonder if this is just happenstance or whether there is something about these particular regions I like either in composition/subject selection.

I'm interested in your experience on photo-sharing sites. Do you tend to follow photographers from particular areas or is there no discernible pattern?
