Houston Reggae Fest 2019

Join the fun during one of our biggest events of the year.

It’s that time of year again. The snow is soft, temps are warming up, and we’re getting ready to put on one of the biggest spring parties on the East Coast – Reggae Fest. From April 12th-15th, come out and enjoy non-stop live music by some of the nation’s top reggae artists including The Movement, Through The Roots, New Kingston, and more. And not to mention, spring skiing conditions are going to be all-time thanks to more than five feet of natural snow this spring.

Style

The age old saying that “looks aren’t everything” doesn’t apply to spring skiing – so dress accordingly. Style points go out to shredders dressed in retro ski outfits, neon colors, epic costumes, chicken onesies, and of course your traditional red, yellow, and green. Time to hit the thrift shop or raid your parent’s storage unit – the brighter the better.

Sunblock

Saturday is often quite literally a “day at The Beach”, with non-stop live music on the outdoor stage starting at 11am – and once the good vibes start flowing the last thing you want to deal with is a sunburn. We recommend doing your best to protect your skin with SPF and a hat or visor, but we know some of you guys are going to be working on your goggle tans. Just remember – it’s supposed to be a goggle tan, not a goggle burn.

Sunglasses

In case you want to ditch your goggles altogether, now’s the perfect time to crack out your sunglasses. Partly for style points, partly because we’re enjoying that warmer weather again – and mostly because no one likes squinty-eye-selfies.

All evening concerts in the King Pine Room and Widowmaker are 21+, so make sure not to leave your ID at home.

Bumps and Slush

There’s nothing like skiing some bumps and slush in the spring – in fact we wait all winter long for it. Make the most of your time on the slopes by checking out some of our legendary bump runs including Bubblecuffer, Skidder, and anything in the King Pine area.

Lunch (and music) at Bullwinkle’s

It’s well-known that The Beach is the place to be for mid-day music during Reggae Fest, but did you know we’ll also have bands playing at Bullwinkle’s? That’s right – you can go and enjoy reggae beats without ever taking your skis off (unless you want a beer, of course). Just head on over to your favorite mid-mountain restaurant for some good food, cold drinks, great music, and even better company.
