benedict  was  too  focused  on  his  kite  attempting  to  make  it  look  presentable  .  he  was  no  artist  —  far  from  it  actually  —  but  he  refused  to  fly  a  kite  that  looked  anything  less  than  respectable  .  water  color  ,  ribbons  ,  and  fabrics  of  all  colors  littered  the  table  but  benedict  had  a  plan  ,  brows  furrowed  in  concentration  ,  the  world  around  him  completely  disappearing  from  all  thought  .  as  he  reached  for  the  water  color  ,  his  hand  brushed  slightly  on  another's  .  “  oh  ,  my  apologies  ,  ”  he  mumbled  but  that  touch  —  brief  and  electric  —  sent  warmth  rushing  through  him  .  it  felt  almost  familiar  ,  which  made  him  pause  ,  turning  his  head  toward  the  source  .  “  miss  amélia  ,  ”  benedict  almost  whispred  ,  disbelief  lacing  his  tone  .  saying  her  name  like  this  felt  foreign  ,  but  he  remembered  where  they  were  and  corrected  himself  before  he  spoke  .  heart  seemed  to  catch  mid-beat  ,  and  for  a  moment,   the  kite,  the  colors,  the  ribbons  ,  everything  was  forgotten,  eclipsed  entirely  by  her  presence  .  “  go  …  go  ahead  .  you  reached  for  it  first  .  ”  withdrawing  his  hand  subtly,  stretching  it  just  enough  to  straighten  his  arm,  careful  that  she  not  notice  ,  before  letting  it  fall  back  to  his  side  .  “  it  is  …  it's  good  to  see  you  again  .  ”
