Perihelion and crew pick up a distress call from Simon. The humans want to bring him on board but Art dissents due to Simon's genetic corruption since it could be the work of another Alien Remnant. They compromise by bring Simon aboard but keep him in quarantine until he can be fully assessed.

Simon is happy to be saved but frustrated that he is essentially in another prison. He is short and annoyed with the crew, not fully cooperating with them. After all the rebuffs the crew decided to try having Murderbot talk to him and they end up, well, not getting along per se, but reach an understanding. Murderbots direct "no-bullshit" manner of speech calms Simon's anxiety from all the vaguery and lying he's had to deal with lately. They also sort of bond over having both been apart of a mass tragedy against their wishes.

Shortly after this, Peri is hailed by an odd vessel, the Hail Mary. The occupants are in need of supplies and it just so happens one of said occupants, Ryland Grace is an accredited Xenobiologist. A trade of help is agreed upon so Grace and Rocky come aboard Peri. Grace who is usually awkward around and mocked by his peers is surprised by how welcoming and impressed the other scientists are with him. They all immediately begin exchanging notes and ideas on Simon.

Rocky on the other hand is no biology expert so he is left to essentially wander around on his own. Perihelion is able to speak to him in his own language to his enjoyment. The two end up getting along very well. Murderbot is monitoring the conversion and while not able to speak Eridian can understand it (thanks for the translator modular Art). It doesn't get along as well with Rocky but all three of them agree that 1. Humans are far too squishy for how eager to get into danger they are and 2. They would do anything to protect Their humans.

Some of my body hair got a bit darker but not thicker or coarser thankfully.
