Indulge in the delightful combination of rich dark chocolate and refreshing mint with these Mint Hot Chocolate Bombs. Perfect for a cozy winter evening by the fireplace or as a festive treat during the holiday season.
Ingredients: 12 ounces of dark chocolate, chopped. 1/2 cup of hot cocoa mix. 1/2 cup of mini marshmallows. 1/4 cup of crushed candy canes. 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract. 1/4 cup of white chocolate chips. Green food coloring optional. 1 cup of warm milk to serve.
Instructions: In a bowl safe for the microwave, melt the dark chocolate for 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each to ensure smoothness. Melt the dark chocolate and stir in a few drops of optional green food coloring, until well combined. Melt the dark chocolate and use a silicone mold to fill each mold cavity, making sure to completely cover the edges. To set, place in the freezer for five minutes. Combine the crushed candy canes, mini marshmallows, peppermint extract, and hot cocoa mix in a separate bowl. Take the molds filled with chocolate out of the freezer, then carefully take the chocolate shells out of the mold. The hot cocoa mixture should be poured into half of the shells, leaving some room at the edges. In a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave, melt the white chocolate chips and pour them over the filled chocolate shells. To seal the bombs, gently place the remaining empty chocolate shells on top of the filled ones. To make sure they stay together, gently press. After they are finished, put the hot chocolate bombs in the fridge to set for ten minutes. To serve, put one hot chocolate bomb into a mug, then cover it with warm milk. Stir until the bomb melts and releases the candy cane pieces, marshmallows, and hot cocoa mix. Savor your Hot Chocolate Bombs with Mint!
