Refreshed shin soukoku headcanons
Since it’s been sooooo long since I fed my bsd fans, I thought I should refresh shin soukoku’s headcanons! No promises I'll return to it entirely, but it's been floating around my head a bit, so I decided to write a lil something to scratch that itch.
Shin soukoku is a bit...rough, but they’ve got their wholesomeness too.
Atsushi and Akutagawa butt heads and argue, fight, and insult one another, but they also understand one another.
As orphans who were taken in by Dazai, both in need of some acceptance of that man’s flaws and how it might’ve rubbed off on them, they can lean on one another, and both can understand the issues Dazai gave them.
They also can keep eachother in line. Atsushi willing and able to stop Aku’s rage, and Akutagawa doesn’t fear Atsushi for his tiger, and is more than willing to snap him out of self-esteem slumps and his own anger.
But, at the same time, they are still kinda toxic.
Atsushi can help Akutagawa grow, he can help him confront his issues, but he can also match his awful attitude and rip him down.
Their arguments are awful. Personal jabs, creatively cutting insults, even coming to physical blows if it gets too heated.
But, once again, that comes with some balance.
Because, both of these boys kinda strike me as being into shit like impact play. It’s cathartic for the two of them.
So! All around, they’re kinda toxic, but they can balance eachother out and be sweet at the same time.
