Weekly reflection w/c. 30.05.16 -This week I learned how to push my final illustrations further by incorporating other artists styles (e.g. Michelle Harvey) and how to manage my time effectively heading up to deadline day. -My decisions were influenced by talks with my tutors prior to half term, and previous work and artist research completed near the start of unit 8. -I developed practical work by constantly referring back to it and pushing it further the best I could. I developed ideas by sketching them or writing them down and considering them and which I will take forward. -My final illustrations are very successful as they are very considered and aesthetically pleasing and stimulating, as well as managing my time more effectively. -I overcame problems such as lack of digital resources and inability to get to college by ensuring I had everything I needed for the half term, and creating depth in my illustrations by taking time to consider them and work in layers. -I will develop successful ideas by trying them out e.g compositions and possible final piece/final illustration developments. -My short term intentions before hand-in are to get my final piece and all developments completed, update my blog, fill out the forms and harvard formatted bibliography and have all work annotated and evaluated ready for deadline day on 08.06.16.

Weekly reflection w/c. 23.05.16 -This week I learned how to evaluate what made my Schmeisser backgrounds and how to improve them for my final piece backgrounds. I also learned what layouts could be more or less successful and what plant illustrations will work best. -My decisions were influenced by my Jorg Schmeisser artist research and talks with my specialist tutor and written feedback, as well as pinterest research for some possible layouts and compositions. -I developed practical work by responding to my tutor feedback on how to improve my backgrounds (by being more selective with orange biro), and I developed ideas by researching them and producing thumbnail sketches of my possible compositions. -My final backgrounds and practise with compositions were very successful as they were well considered and carefully carried out. -I overcame problems such as making my backgrounds more successful by talking with my specialist tutor and referring back to Schmeissers work. -I’ll develop successful ideas such as my compositions by practising them further and seeing the outcomes of these compositions with my actual final illustrations. -My short term intentions are to produce my final illustrations and annotate any other work to prepare my book for hand in.

Weekly reflection w/c. 11.04.16 -This week I learned how to respond to a new artist (Noel Badges Pugh) and try new techniques for a desired effect which was successful. -My decisions were influenced by talks with my tutor before breaking up for half term, my project plan and artist research. -I developed practical work by taking work-in-progress photos and taking the time to decide how to improve my work. I developed ideas by referring to my project plan and putting my work into context by looking at it's relevance and how successful it was at reflecting an artists style or the unique qualities of a technique. -My practical work this week was very successful as I produced a variety of aesthetically pleasing and successful illustrations, and was able to analyse why some weren't as successful. -I overcame problems by experimenting with materials before deciding what I would complete my responses on, and evaluating why something was more or less successful and why. -I will develop successful ideas by developing them further by completing digital developments and pushing my work further. -My short term intentions are to finish off the work from half term and begin lino cutting.

Reflect and progress from 04.04.16 -This week I learned how to effectively plan out my time out of college and how to prepare everything that I would need in this time. I also learned new watercolour techniques and what made a technique more or less successful and how to overcome obstacles with materials such as paper. -My decisions were influenced by artists I admired and studied, talks with my specialist tutor and researching new techniques and skills. -I developed practical work by identifying how to tackle the techniques and experimenting with new methods. I developed ideas by referring to my action plan and evaluating the relevance and difficulty of techniques listed.~ -My practical work was quite successful, as was my time management. -I overcame problems by deciding what was unsuccessful and identifying why, and looking at past work and techniques and seeing if they would help to overcome the problem. -I'll develop successful ideas by using them in future works and developing them to push them further. -My short term intentions are to keep working through my half term checklist effectively and efficiently. 

Weekly reflection from w/c 21.03.16. -This week I learned how to respond to tutor feedback through written response and practical work and developing cyanotypes digitally for a variety of effects. -I developed practical work influenced by written tutor feedback I received as well as peer assessment, and by artist research. -I developed my practical work using a variety of medias for a range of effects and outcomes; including pushing previous pieces further to improve them and creating new outcomes. -Responding to my tutor feedback by improving old work was successful as it showed that I developed the work and responded to the artist as fully as possible. -I overcame problems by speaking with my tutors and peers and studying the artists work more carefully. -I will develop successful ideas by exploring techniques further and combining successful techniques for more varied outcomes. -My short term intentions are to finish off my cyanotypes developments to the best of my ability.
