Throughout history titans have clashed. Great, and more often than not, no so great leaders have fought, spilling blood and scarring landscapes in an attempt to vie for power. Even since The Collapse, war has been no stranger. Twilight Gap, Six Fronts, Crota, Oryx, every skirmish with the Fallen.

But this one would be different. Two powerhouses, fierce, ruthless, arrogant and confident were about to clash.

In the empty darkness of space, beyond the reach of the Traveler's Light a fleet flew silently. As they converged on their destination they flew closer together. Sat in the flagship the commander thought about the battle ahead. His mind wandered to fantasies of the conflict and his soon to be power. The plan was perfect, there would be little resistance, no mercy, and no chance of failure.

Except for one thing.

“Fire.”

Plans never survive contact with the enemy.

By the time the warheads had been detected it was too late. The first salvo had ripped into their targets and a second was on its way. What was thought to be debris suddenly gained heat signatures as they closed the gap, Harvesters strafing the leading ships dodged in and out, avoiding gunfire.

Drexod smiled grimly as the WS Hesperus opened fire. Heavy salvos pounded away and shields strained under the brunt of return fire.

[This is it! We can’t stop them but we can try and slow them. This isn’t a suicide run but fuck if we let them roll over us.]

Casualties came hard as Harvester signals vanished and connections died. Usually, retreat was not in Drexod’s vocabulary but he grimaced as he gave the order for his force to disengage.

[WS LOPEZ: Negative, unable to disengage.]

There was another blast, followed by a judder that reverberated throughout the whole ship. A red corvette had pulled alongside the flagship and had thrown clamps, dragging the vessels into boarding range. Heading to meet the repelling party, messages came in.

[MENDEZ: Weaponry disabled, Resupply run successful, linking H. Scarlett Fever, H. Razorwire.]

[WS HESPERUS: Explain.]

[MENDEZ; Breaking contact to allow WS LOPEZ space to disengage.]

Two reports from both the Harvester Scarlett Faver and Razorwire came in, confirming the three ships had met up.

[MENDEZ: Initiating run. Disengage on my signal. Goodbye.]

There was a blast as Cabal breach charges detonated and gunfire opened, stalling the boarding party, however Drexod was not left blind to the trio’s tactic.

Flanking the damaged Harvester, Razorwire and Scarlett Fever drew fire, peeling away to disintegrate from the damage at the last moment as the missile loaded into the bay of Lopez was fused.

Silence fell on the flagship, neither the boarding party nor the repellers could be detected on the craft.
