I just had to sing this one. Growing up, these were the songs that rung from my mother’s record player. These are Chavela's lyrics, though I learned it this way from, Raphael. These songs have given love and texture to everything I have become. My mother was the one; a poet, songwriter, singer who filled every aspect of our lives with music, growing up. My voice comes from my mother’s side of the family, even though my father has also become a singer as of late on his karaoke machine; so for him, I “smule”.
