Yasha in a2 mayhaps?
her clothes are comfortable but she is Not
[ID: Digital fanart of Yasha from Critical Role season 2. She is a woman with very pale grey skin with dark eye makeup and lipstick. Her hair is long and large, the color is a gradient from dark grey at the top to white at the bottom. She stands facing left with her hands in her pockets, and she looks uncomfortable. She wears a light grey sweater that says “zadash” on it with a vague symbol underneath, and green pants. She has a messenger bag with the strap going across her chest. /end id]
Critical Role Fic Rec Day (Sept)!
@redteamshark is running a fic rec day, so here we go!
Indelible Ink by @angel-ascending
Jester wants a tattoo and she's found the perfect artist to do it. The question is, can she pay for it?
My rec list needs to start of with @angel-ascending‘s work because they write the first works I went crazy over for Campaign 2! Seriously, all worth reading!
A Warm Feeling by @princessamericachavez
“So the Traveler is there even when you can’t see him?”
“Oh, yes!” Jester smiled at him. “I mean, not all the time because I’m sure he has other cool things to do every day, but most of the time, yes. He’s around.”
“How do you know, though?” He insisted.
I’ve determined that @princessamericachavez just excels at cute moments. Here is one.
Art & Science by @blindvogel and @shadowedhills
Percy and Vex's blind date at the art museum leads to a Very Serious science experiment back at Percy's apartment.
I wanted a Campaign 1 fic and smut on this list, so here you go. I like my smut hot and fun and this is both.
August Author Rec Post!
I’ve not done one of these in a while, however, I wanted to rave over some of the authors I love:
@raedmagdon [Ao3] She has written so much of my favorite fiction. She tends to write Mass Effect, The 100, and others. I currently own all of her books that have been released and she’s lovely to talk to.
@littlefists [Ao3] Put Your Guns in the Ground is lovely. Go read it.
@anneapocalypse [Ao3] Anne’s fic The Drop is by far one of the best Carolina fics out there.
@redteamshark [Ao3] I love Bunce and their work. I will never stop recommending their work.
@zalia [Ao3] Zalia’s fics, especially Kitten Food, are excellent.
Go forth and read!
So apparently in the rwby manga Mercury got Ruby to dance with him at the school dance so. That'd be a nice one to see.
There u go Bunce! It’s great to have a dancing partner that won’t feel you stepping on their feet.

The problem isn't "Shakespeare is bad" but "Shakespeare isn't taught well" and I will live and die by this. Reading a play like a novel is bad, because that's not how it's meant to be engaged with. Good teachers will let students watch a play or act it out themselves. THAT makes Shakespeare (or any playwright) good.
Yeah, you can just read a play on the page but it really helps to have some context for how it would be performed, to be able to visualize it coming to life on a stage. High school students often don't have that context. The language can be opaque, and even more so if you aren't used to reading poetry. There's a lot of hurdles to get over to truly get immersed in the text. It's far from impossible, but in a classroom it requires a teacher with the commitment to getting students there. I was lucky--I had English teachers who did in fact show us performances of the plays in addition to reading. We also watched some modern films inspired by Shakespeare plays (Ten Things I Hate About You, Clueless, etc) and discussed how they'd been adapted from the original texts.
I also grew up in the 90s, the decade of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, though I don't remember if we ever watched that in school, or if I just watched it on my own. I remember it being a really fun adaptation, though. I should rewatch it one of these days...
rvb restoration is fan made btw :/ just like out of mind
(I'm joking this is a joke I promise.)
no no no it's Recovery One that's fanmade, Nyx! /also joking
