For my au I'm kinda lumping all the non-mobile type typical alt modes together making them all akin to the cassette player type frames. So Perceptor, Reflector, those that tend to turn into more objects than vehicles. They get little friends that live inside them.
Friendship is magic and i love colony insects which greatly inspired the idea. Hence why in my little doodle of the waves (my friend asked me to draw them kissing so I guess you all get to look forward to that little doodle at sole point soonish) Soundwave gets Elite in his title because I am so normal about bugs.
My idea is more along the lines of the little guys being mostly drones, extensions of the elite, a few, i.e., the ones more in the shape of their host's image would be young elites as or something like that.
Basically the idea is to make them based and inspired on ants and termites in terms of blueprint. ππππ
