The World of Redsor - Masterpost
Redsor is made up of a grouping of island provinces, which then breaks down into the separate islands (kind of like states, in comparison.)
We don't explore the entirety of this world in Dark Water, but it will help with context.
(map made with inkarnate.com. not to scale.)
The three provinces of Redsor are:
The Redsor Islands
Talon
The Ghost Key Archipelago
The Redsor Islands
The Redsor Islands are the main province of Redsor, and is broken into 4 islands.
Holm
Lumrey
Clinside Key
Windover
HOLM
The North-West island of the Redsor Islands, Holm is the site of a dormant volcano whose north shore is uninhabitable rock and steep cliffs. The South side of the island, however, is the opposite. The volcano makes for very rich soil, and the people of Holm have adapted to grow crops in a small amount of space.
LUMREY
The North-East island of the Redsor Island Province, Lumrey is the birth-place of the Redsor Navy fleet. It is mainly populated by recruits, their families, and the Naval Engineering Academy (NEA). The NEA sits on the South West portion of Lumrey, with special access to a protected bay which serves as testing waters for new ship designs .
CLINSIDE KEY
The biggest and center-most island of the Redsor Islands, Clinside Key is the hub for transportation and commerce. On it's eastern tip is the capital of the Redsor Isles: Clinside, whereas the western-most point serves a useful purpose as a prison, separated by harsh mountains with cold temperatures that are rich in metals.
Redsor Island inhabitants often use the term "Go Clinside" to mean be imprisoned or enslaved. It also serves as an insult implying a lack of strong morals.
WINDOVER
Windover is the most southern island, and, like Holm, has very rich soil. However, the land is extremely flat, so although it can be subject to flooding, it is used for farming. It's the most rural of the islands, having only two larger cities on the outskirts of each side, with farms in the center.
TALON
Talon is a small grouping of islands where pirates have made their home. Redsor Islanders have tried, and failed, to take the islands but they didn't account for how quickly pirates become friends when joined with a common cause. Hundreds of Redsor ships were lost before the capital decided it was easier to pick off each ship as it set sail than to, essentially, sail straight into a pirate keep.
The islands aren't extremely prosperous or inhabitable. The main island is predominantly swampland whereas the surrounding smaller islands are desert and are used to beach/careen ships for repairs and cleaning. It's the only safe place for pirates to spend the night and, more importantly, their money.

THE GHOST KEY ARCHIPELAGO
Named after the pirate term Ghost (to sail slowly with no wind), this archipelago is avoided by all sailors alike due to the lack of wind and current that the grouped islands create, seemingly by a curse. Few have touched down on the shores of the islands and returned to tell the tale.
