This past weekend every game we featured on our 119″ projector screen we let a lobster named “Lucky” to pick the winners and Lucky had a mediocre showing.  

In the 1:00 game Lucky picked the Bills over the Giants by 3.  Wrong Lucky.  

In the 8:30 game Lucky picked the Cowboys over the Saints and promised Drew Brees would not play.  Drew Brees played and the Cowboys lost.  Wrong again Lucky. Lucky also picked the Broncos over the Vikings in the 4:30 game but lost on the spread.  Janice in the HR department lost her shirt betting with Lucky’s prognostications.  Therefore Lucky the Lobster will not be making any football picks for next weekend. That reminds me - this Wednesday and every Wednesday we serve our $25 Lobster Dinner Special with all the Fixings!

1:00 Game du Jour: New England vs. Jacksonville This weekend we will have excellent selections of the NFL on our giant projector screen.  The 1:00 Game du Jour will be the New England Patriots vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars.  This game will feature the most hated team outside of New England versus the upstart underdogs from Jacksonville, one team with a coach that resembles Emperor Palpatine versus a team who’s quarterback might be a Pokemon.  Who shall prevail: the Dark Lord of the Sith or Japanese Anime cuteness?

8:00 Game du Jour: Denver vs. Detroit

The 8:30 Game du Jour will be the Denver Broncos versus the Detroit Lions featuring Von Miller and the vaunted Denver D.  Von Miller is looking for hugs this Sunday and he’s looking at you Stafford...

Recent posts on the Red Hook Blogster have slightly disparaged Peyton Manning to promote the game we played last night on our big projector screen at the original Pound in Red Hook.  If you were at the Pound last night and watched that amazing game (while enjoying our Game Day Drink & Food Specials) you were definitely entertained and got to enjoy a thrilling comeback by Peyton and his Broncos in the last two minutes of the game.

So we would like to go on the record to say nice things about Peyton Manning today.  Peyton Manning is a champion, has astronaut good looks and is the funniest quarterback to ever appear on SNL.

While at the Red Hook Lobster Pound at 16 Extra Place constructing a gigantic 5lb Lobster Roll for a Thrillist.com’s “Best Day Ever” contest winner, tourists kept coming done the public alley to take pictures standing in front of the brick wall.  So I asked Jackson why people were doing that.  He said “Well that used to be the old CBGBs.”  I still didn’t understand.  Jackson just shook his head and explained “We’re basically standing in the Ramone’s first album cover...” What?!  We’re hip New Yorkers so of course we totally waited until the tourists cleared the alley but it was decided right there on the spot we had to recreate our own Ramones album cover photo.
