holding the end of the strip of gauze by the teeth , geralt wrapped the linen around his forearm , around a particularly pesky gash that he had managed to obtain not from any sort of creature , but from a tree and hour earlier , as he had slipped down a muddy slope after a bad step and managed to run his arm down the length of a very sharp branch . the cut was shallow , as far as gashes went , and a bit of his water and gauze allowed it to heal quickly enough . it was about time he replaced the old cloth , which was stained red with his blood and crusted into something immobile .
he tore the gauze free of the roll with a quick yank of his head , then tied it off as best he could with one hand . this made the process difficult , but not impossible . by the time he was finished with that business , he stood , looking around the village in which they had stopped to rest . it was quaint and quiet , and for once the people did not comment endlessly on either the witcher or the troubadour .
@redeulogy . ‘ you’re leaving already? ’ - from dandelion
geralt's gaze slid to dandelion . and stuck . from anyone else , the question would not be irregular . but coming from the fair haired , bright - eyed man with the penchant for idyllic impressions , geralt became wary .
❛ don't tell me you've suddenly come up with some fantastical notion about why we should stay here . we haven't travelled nearly far enough for the day to justify stopping here . ❜ he glanced up toward the sky , slitting his pupils . fingers twitched at his sides ; he fought the urge to shield his eyes . ❛ we have at least two more hours . what reason could you possibly have ? ❜
