from /r/vexillology Top comment: I made changes to my previous design, it is much more minimalistic and only has two original Turkish colors.

New England Redesign: St. George's Flag with Green outline
from /r/vexillology Top comment: Many modern flags of New England I see simply have a white canton with the tree on a red field, which is very plain and reduces the historical meaning of New England's flag. For a place named New England, naturally you would use the St. George's Cross of England, and many flags for New England have the St. George's in the canton with the tree in the top left corner of it, but many have dropped the cross for simplicity. This design is based on a naval jack version of New England's flag, a St. George's on a white background with the tree in the left canton. I have added a green stripe in the shade of the tree to represent New England's large population of Irish heritage, so that both English and Irish histories are represented (the Green in the cross could alternatively be made thicker to emphasize this). The colors together also feel very Christmassy, and represent the area's northerly climate.
Another New England Redesign: St. George's Cross + White and Green stripes and pine tree
from /r/vexillology Top comment: On my other New England design, I put a green stripe directly next to the St. George's red in the cross, which is not something you traditionally do with a St. George's (it needs to have a white background to technically be called that). Well, I was also reminded of those of Italian ancestry who live in New England, and so I decided spacing the Green out so that there is a red cross, surrounded by a white, then a green, nicely featured and favored the English cross while also alluding to the Irish and Italian colors. And of course the liberty pine is still there. Personally, I like this design a lot better this way. Let me know what you guys think :)

A flag just begging for a redesign: Decatur County, Indiana, USA.
from /r/vexillology Top comment: I’m sure 99% of people do not know the flag exists so no need to incorporate. It is rural so some element representing farming and fortunately it still has a lot of industry but other than that the only thing I can think of is that it was a big stop on the Underground Railroad (the case that challenged the fugitive slave law in the US Supreme Court started there). Also there is a tree that has been growing from a tower in the courthouse for centuries, which would probably be the symbol most people would recognize.
Europe flag redesign: 'Spectrum' by Viktor Hertz
from /r/vexillology Top comment: Your favourite EU barcode flag, now on drugs. Good luck trying to identify the countries that are featured on this flag.
