James took a drink from his flask and tightened the cap before replacing it on his belt. He was going to run out before the day through, and he was getting low on cigarettes too. The soldier sighed as the two of them waited on a rooftop surveying their target. This was their first mission together. The Red Room wanted the soldier to take the Black Widow out on a test run. Really, he was just there as a babysitter--not that he needed to be. But with the way things were going at the moment, this wasn’t going to work out.

It was just them on the rooftop. No one was watching, no one was listening in...just them. And yet, they hadn’t spoken a word to each other once they’d arrived. James shifted in his spot, checking his pack of cigarettes before pulling one out and lighting up.

“How’s the target lookin’?” he asked.

“THAT oughta hold em. Good work by the way”

Sharon wasn’t sure how to be a Captain of anything. Yet, here she was Captain America, the face of USA, the girl who was suppose to help save the world from what? Fear. Share tapped her fingers across the table, wondering how she became such a joke. A circus monkey for the soldiers that were giving their lives to save everyone. Peggy sat down in front of her little sister, noticing the sadness in the girls eyes. 

“You’re not a dancing monkey,” She spoke sweetly, trying to uplift her sister. Share scoffed and pushed the sketch over to the side.”Tell that to the men out there. They call out to me to dance, and I can’t even be mad, Peg. They’re doing something for the people and look at me. I’m dancing for America.”

Peggy reached forward and held her hand, Sharon could feel the love even through all of the sadness. “You’re worth more. I have news about Natasha, she’s been taken hostage in Berlin.” Sharon looked at her in shock, and that was when she knew what she had to do. “I’ve got to go Peggy.”
