I just watched Red One for the first time, a movie that was not loved by critics. It was fantastic. It’s my new favorite Christmas movie.
It was funny, exciting and clever. Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans had great chemistry. I loved the film’s lore and mythology - a Christmas movie that works in a cameo by the Headless Horseman absolutely knows what it’s doing.
The critics score on Rotten Tomatoes is 30% while the audience score is 89% which pretty much says it all. Honestly, I can’t figure out what movie the critics were watching. I’m glad to see it’s been a success on streaming which raises prospects for a sequel, which I would love.
But it raises the question - is the sequel Red Two or my preference: Red One Two 😊?
