I’ve been listening to K-Pop since 2015, and when EXO announced a comeback for December and a TOUR, 16 year old me is still screaming. I’m now 26 and finally getting a chance to attend their tour.
I had a dream that tomatoes weren't vegan because like figs they have some kind of insect that does something to it to make it edible.
There is no one here anymore.
And yet...
I make the tea and play the radio as loud as I can stand it.
It echoes.
And the tea grows cold.
But in those soft moments, of sunlight I can feel on my skin... the world feels a little more...
Human.
I felt like being controversial so here’s a critique for tonight: I think the MCU missed out on some beautiful storytelling for Steve’s arc (and yes, I will be mentioning Peggy, just for a bit). Let me explain:
Yes, Peggy is a wonderful character, and I love her. In the show Agent Carter, we got to see some character growth from her. While she mourned Steve and never forgot him, she still moved forward in life: getting married, having a family, and starting S.H.I.E.L.D.
Steve Rogers came out of the ice, his own timeline having passed by, his friends and comrades either dead or super old, and unfamiliar with the world he woke up to. However, he begins to make new friends, adapt to his new environment, and continue to do what he always wanted: to do the right thing.
Over the course of the films, we see Steve still mourning and yearning for a life he feels he missed out on. One with Peggy.
So why is Peggy a problem? She’s NOT. She was amazing.
Despite Steve accomplishing and growing in so many areas, the ending of Avengers: Endgame made Steve out to be someone who didn’t mature emotionally. Meaning, the ending felt more like fan service/a cop out and undermined Peggy’s character growth.
You can make the argument “but Steve went through hell and back for Peggy.” Honey, he went through hell and back for A LOT MORE than the girl he loved: Bucky, US citizens, people who couldn’t defend themselves, even the Avengers he fought alongside for so long despite the events of CW. There was a whole more to Steve than just Peggy.
Yes, Peggy is part of who Steve is, and I’m not here to dismiss that at all. I’m not saying “Steve should have fallen in love during his course as an Avenger” no. I am saying the story could have given him a much more meaningful ending. He does go back in time to see Peggy, but for closure. Telling her everything that had happened, having that dance he saved for her, but he stays in the future where he moves forward in life. And they’re both proud of each other.
Because if you think about, Steve was more yearning for nostalgia. I didn’t write the movies, but I am someone who watched them and likes to critique things.
This is all my opinion, and I’m open to discuss it

Shameless self-promo: If you’re someone who likes fanfics of book/movie/tv fandoms, then go follow my other page @thenerdycarat I just posted a new story
I kinda want Warrior Cats but with dinosaurs.
I love the trope:
Character A, who hides from the light due to past trauma and persecution that follows them. And finds someone something in that darkness who understands them so wholeheartedly, and they are never going back.
Character B, literally a creature of shadows enthralled by the one human that finds comfort in the darkness rather than running from it. They will never let a creature of light lay a finger on them now, their hands are soaked with blood and they cradle the face of their beloved.
