Sleep Prompts (lover & side of bed)
@starryeyedstories
Words: 694
Genre: Fluff, friends to lovers
Warnings: N/A
Author Summary
(The request, as there was no summary) sharing a bed with your ''lover'' and being told to âstay on your side of the bedâ only to wake up the next day, with your ''lover's'' arms wrapped around you with Geralt? đ
Notes: This hits Geralt's communication style right on the head- largely physical and subtle. I loved watching him come out of his shell one piece at a time for people who earn his trust in cannon media, it's always nice to see snippets of that in fan media.
Love the casual intimacy and friendly banter, really sells the idea of long running companions.
His Hands
@thewitcheress2389
Words: 399
Genre: Fluff, friends to lovers
Warnings: mild injury
Author Summary
Geralt cuts his hand and needs your help in being stitched up.
Notes: We love indulging touch starved characters here! Very sweet and fluffy.
A Fated Storm
@author-morgan
Words: 3k
Genre: Hurt/comfort, angst, fluff, friends to lovers
Warnings: Cannon typical violence
Author Summary
If there's one thing you can count on, it's that Geralt of Rivia will be bleeding when he shows up at your doorâor in this case, when you find him lying on the side of the road during a storm.
Notes: Super charmed by this- very sweet!!
Healing Hands
@clints-lucky-arrow
Words: 2.3k
Genre: Hurt/comfort, smut
Warnings: Long hair reader, Cannon typical violence, Smut
Author Summary
There are not many beings that Geralt trusts to tend to his wounds. Amongst the limited few is a novice woodland witch - one that heâs long felt affection for.
Notes: This is so soft. I absolutely can't stop reading it. I'll just pass away here thanks.
The Worst Monster of All
@notabronte
Words: 1.3k
Genre: Hurt/comfort
Warnings: Abuse emntions
Author Summary
it seems just a regular job for Geralt. Kill the monster and leave. Instead, he gets more than he was expecting.
Notes: Abuse implications which isn't everyone's cup of tea but I adore the characterization here. Geralt is not unlike a cat that gets slowly tempted into having loved ones, and watching him go soft for people always makes me smile.
I've Been Waiting
@bethdutten
Words: 3.1k
Genre: Hurt/comfort, smut
Warnings: N/A
Author Summary
if you lose someone you were never supposed to have in the first place, is there really anyone but yourself to blame? you fell in love with a customer, and heâs asking something from you that youâre not in a position to give. but you want to.
Notes:
I've re-read this a few times, and it always tickles me. It has the rewarding feeling of a good slow burn, but we also jump straight into the emotional action. Geralt is a terrible communicator, as always, but his actions speak much louder than words. It's clear Reader understands this, but they still have believable conflict/confusion about his intentions. It'll hit you in the feels with some moderate angst, but it's warm and fuzzy enough to indulge all those good feelings. 30/10
Maybe for You
@mandos-things
Words: 736 (1st Chapter)
Genre: Fluff, smut
Warnings: detailed mentions of smut, masturbation (f), eventual smut, swearing, 18+ you have been warned.
Author Summary
Traveling has taken its toll
Notes:
A great use of Geralt's overly-acute senses. Even small annoyances are a big deal for him because he's obscenely aware of them all. Exciting to see how this one might roll out, and mutually acknowledged sexual tension is a super fun place to start. Very good jump start to a mini-series. I don't think I've read the rest yet- will have to check that out.
The Cottage at the Edge of the Woods
@starryeyedstories
Words: idek bruh. Large collection of mini fics.
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: Cannon typical violence
Author Summary
When monsters are cruel and the Continent is crueller, Geralt knows he can always find a few days of peace with you, the gentle healer who lives in the cottage at the edge of the woods.
Notes:
This collection lives in my head rent free. It has for years. YEARS, I tell you. It's oodles and oodles of fluffy goodness about a classic Witcher universe pairing- monster hunter and their concerned healer. It's a fic equivalent of a warm cup of tea and some soup on a down day. Perfect material to curl up and get cozy with. Thank you for some of my all time favorite comfort reading.
I Can Help
@joelslegalwhre
Words: 1.3k
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: people being mean to geralt and reader, soft!geralt, swearing, making out, kind of âfast pace' relationship, not a good father daughter relationship
Author Summary
Much to your fathers disliking, you not only serve a Witcher in his tavern, but you also leave with Geralt to find his child of surprise.
Notes:
The author is right, this is fast paced, but I'm happy to roll with that considering Geralt's apparent womanizing (whatever the gender neutral of that behavior is? Manwhoring?). He clearly has no reservations about getting the physical affection where he can get it. This is a really fun piece! It plays with Geralt's affinity to pick up rebels and rag-tags, his protectiveness over vulnerable groups, and slides itself into a clever notch in the plot. A bit hurt-comforty, a bit saucy, and very amusing on all counts.
Darkness Before Dawn
@waiting4inspiration
Words: 2.5k (1st Chapter)
Genre: Angst, fluff
Warnings:princess!reader, angst, strong language, mentions of adultery/cheating, curses, witchcraft, slightly a horror, specific in each part
Author Summary
A witch crashes your sisterâs birthday celebration with the intention to put a curse on the firstborn daughter of your father as a vendetta for what heâs done to her. But, secrets your mother has been keeping for years come to light and it changes everything. Like, who becomes queen when your father dies.Â
Notes:
This is a really fun deep dive into some on the magic and monster systems in The Witcher. It's nice to explore, and leans into those warm-n-fuzzy feelings with Geralt's ability to listen to all kinds of creatures with great empathy and sniff out the true monsters of the world. Kind of angsty, a good shot of action, and a great piece to make you feel safe and cozy.
Pathetic Fantasies
@cinebration
Words: 553
Genre: Angst
Warnings:Mild Violence
Author Summary
(The request, as there was no summary) ooh ooh! could you maybe do one where geralt and y/n are in an argument and geralt says something hurtful (can be on purpose or accidental) and the reader gets upset? and i donât really care how it would end. please?????
Notes:
Bloody hell. This is angsty- hurt no comfort. None. A satisfying look at how Geralt's social ineptness can genuinely hurt people, and reader hurts him right back. It's short, snappy, and very fun. It will not make you feel better, but I love the characterization and the concept is very fun to get lost in.
A Bone-Deep Chill
@13atoms
Words: 4.6k
Genre: Angst, fluff
Warnings:hypothermia, storms
Author Summary
Caught in a viscous storm, you find yourself in a freezing inn, sharing two rooms between three grouchy people. Worse still, you're fighting off the cold settling deep in your bones.
Friends-to-cuddling, Jaskier is grumpy in this
Notes:
I love a good hypothermia fic, and who doesn't? I love how far this goes into serious hypothermia- the intimately scary bits. It's a huge treat seeing Geralt worked up and nervous. Towards the end the transition between angsty problem solving to fluffier emotional stuff is nice and smooth. A good little angst read with a happy ending. I've come back to this one over and over for years.
