It was a brutal and bloody scene at the church, but Dex's priorities had changed. Fisk had unleashed something in him, some darkness that he'd tried all his life to suppress, but he wasn't a fool. It was clear the Kingpin was not to be trusted, and Karen Page was too close to all of it. He'd followed her story for some time, since she'd first covered the Castle case. She was the only person who bothered to look past the surface of his crimes, and it made him wonder whether she could ever see him for who he truly was without flinching away. He no longer cared about killing Matt Murdock or dragging Daredevil's name through the mud. Protecting Karen was the only thing that mattered.
Kidnapping her from the church had been almost impossible when that red-suited do-gooder showed up, and admittedly it had all gone a bit messier than he planned. He felt justified in the outcome though. If Matt couldn't protect her from him, then he had no chance of protecting her from Fisk. It was better this way, and she would come to see it in time. He hoped. The warehouse was a temporary stop, and binding her wrists and ankles to a chair was a cautionary measure. It would be far easier to leave the city if she came with him willingly, and he was hoping he could convince her of that. But there were other ways, if she took persuading.
He'd hit her pretty hard to subdue her, another unfortunate necessity, but he could tell when she was awake by the tension in her body. He was sitting across from her, still bloody and disheveled from the fight, a smile spreading across his face. Finally. He would get to talk to her face to face, a real conversation.
"Hello, Karen."
