A trio of pearls, seemingly simple, yet there is a sturdy power behind it. It represents her grace and strength.
As a Crystal Pony, Pearl lived well, her childhood wonderfully spent basking in the glow of the Crystal Heart. Even among Crystal Ponies, Pearl had an advantage, with her family having a tendency to house strong ponies worthy of protecting the Empire's royalty. She was not exempt of this fate, as one evening when protecting a couple of fillies with the help of a hastily crafted spear, she earned her cutie mark.It came as no surprise that Pearl entered service protecting the royal family, but what did come as a surprise, was the invasion at the hand of the unicorn king, Sombra. Pearl, alongside her friends, formed a resistance group known as the Crystal Gems, though their efforts were ultimately in vain.Falling prey to the curse of King Sombra like the rest of the Empire, Pearl was out of commission until the Empire was finally saved by the Mane Six with the help of Cadence and Spike.Even so, when the Crystal Empire returned to its true state, Pearl welcomed the new Prince and Princess with open hooves. Now, she spends her time as a teacher to young fillies hoping to enter military service, as well as continuing her job as a confidant and guard to the royal family.
