It was two years ago this week that I finished my book proposal and sent it off to publishers. My agent Leila at @stonesongnyc worked with me and never gave up hope that we would be able to sell this book. A week later I signed my first book deal with Lorena Jones at @tenspeedpress and @penguinrandomhouse . It took two years to write, edit, review, and edit some more- then naming and art and so on. Today I received the first copy of my very first book, PLATFORM. The feeling is unreal and I can’t wait for Feb. 5 when it is officially published! I did it. I wrote a book! My new and first book “Platform” is available for pre-order. It publishes Feb. 5, 2019 with @penguinrandomhouse ! Platform is a why-to and how-to personal branding book for people with purpose, expertise, and real jobs. My goal in writing this book was to encourage some of those real experts to come forward and speak up - so that we can see more of them and less of the pundits and talking heads. Writing a book is a very long journey. I wrote it in 3-months but the entire process from start to publishing took me 2-years.
