Stunning prose from my current read.
Incredible.
Currently reading: "The Prince of Midnight" by Laura Kinsale
I was not prepared for this man to be literally howling at the moon and acting like a wolf with his wolf companion. Insane. Which is exactly how I like my romance novels. And Leigh has not a thought for how undeniably WEIRD he is. He's just inept and useless to her, lol.
(I have no idea if this is where people start with Kinsale, but this was at my library's booksale, so it's where I'm starting.)
My favorite kind of sex scene is when the hero is so freaking gentle with the heroine because he knows something is lurking in her past, and there's a delicious amount of consent and care, but none of it takes away from the passion. That's my favorite. And I just read a really good one last night.
Damn, well, okay. Just a normal, fully-clothed afternoon in the forest.
JUST A NORMAL AFTERNOON.
This book is so much fun.
Edit to add: the heroine is blind and doesn't know what he's offering. That context seems important.

Naked man torso is not my preferred cover to start the year, but this continues my journey through medieval HR featuring Robin Hood characters or intentionally copying Robin Hood stories.
Good to know that medieval man Will Scarlet wears khakis and a modern belt. I hate it.
This is one of two Will Scarlet books I have on the docket. (The other has a gorgeous clinch, too.)
I tried to start reading this at 3am, and it was a mistake because I was heavily confused why Will Scarlet was ambushing an earl on a forest road with the Sheriff of Nottingham's men. I could not follow. Could not compute.
Still learning the why on that one.
But fifty pages in and they've already fucked! So we're off! Cool!
day two of reading if we were villains: tell me why iām crying over brutus and cassius.
