My Homework for the Night
I had to pick a fiction book to write about for my grad class this semester. After some research, I picked _The Interpreter_ by Suki Kim. I got it because it focuses on the Korean immigrant experience in America (I’ve been learning Korean for about two years) and it was pushed as a mystery novel.
I’m about halfway through, and they’re just starting to get to the real mystery elements. But, honestly, I don’t mind. The main character (Suzy Kim) is smart, deep, and struggling with her life. It has been interesting reading, seeing how she thinks, muses and remembers her life, and how she actually interacts with other characters. I want to keep going tonight, but I have other work and chores to do.
