"The Caddy" (Martin & Lewis) Radio Promotion Record (1953)
Martin & Lewis record a promotional radio message for their Paramount movie, "The Caddy". Three outtakes of Dean & Jerry trying to get through five lines of dialogue. Although this record was never commercially released, there were several acetate discs of the session that survive. Most likely dubbed by radio engineers & now survive in the hands of private collectors. There are surviving air-checks from their radio show that feature similar “off-air” clowning.. recorded but not used in the final edits of their radio series! Audiences were properly convulsed! “The Caddy" promo disc was probably recorded at WIBA around July of 1953, during which time the team ended production on their weekly NBC network radio show. The film was released the following month.
