#reading comprehension problems

@nancylou444 you know how we’re always bemoaning lack of reading comprehension? Well, right in the description of this song it says that the vocalist was Harry Vanda. But the reading comprehension impaired bunch in the comments are all remarking on what a great voice Malcolm Young had. I think he’d be laughing his ass off about that. He did backing vocals, never lead. Please, at least give the man credit for what he was actually doing--playing the damn guitar.

The new Star Wars movie is amazing. However, I understand the stress that can come with attempting to read the screen crawls. If you’re like me, you often have to read things twice to understand, sometimes pausing at every word, thinking about what it means, and then piecing it all together. See if you can bring a friend who can quietly read the text to you, because that helps a lot. If not, try not to stress. Stay calm, the text doesn’t go by very quickly. And if you can’t understand the crawl quickly enough, don’t stress, you will still understand the movie. Everything will piece together. You got this.

If you’re actively reading but you’re still struggling to understand the main idea, talk to the teacher.  He or she may better understand what’s preventing you from understanding the larger picture.  Your teacher may also be able to point you towards helpful practice tests or set up an appointment with a dedicated Austin tutor.
