I love reading, but it's always been difficult for me because I had no idea until after college that I had dyslexia and epilepsy, and now I'm dealing with chronic pain and neurological issues from the aftereffects of the epilepsy being untreated for so long, plus rheumatoid arthritis. recently for my birthday I decided to treat myself and got an ereader, and it came preloaded with the opendyslexic font, and after having it for just over a month i've already read so much! for the first time in years i've read for fun every day, and because its an e-ink display and i can adjust the red tone and font size it doesn't give me a headache. it's so lightweight too, and has actual buttons because i hate touch screens.
i also got myself an rf remote control page turner and a goose-neck clamp to attach it to my side table or rollator so I can read hands free! It's great for bad pain days when I can't do big movements, or when I'm stuck in bed sick or recovering from a long day out. I can lay back, adjust it, and read all afternoon at my own pace. For anyone who's interested, the ereader is the Nook Glowlight 4 plus and i attached photos of the remote and clamp!
Awesome! I'm glad you found these items that have made reading an enjoyable activity! And thank you for sharing some positivity about ereaders and assistive tools!
