finding a store that’s open 24/7 within a walking distance from the apartment is, of course, one of the first things he does. right after all the necessary safety measures one has to take after a lifetime of dealing with crime, but, yes, the store is quite an important one, too. it’s way past midnight and there is nobody roaming the aisles aside from a few lost souls with their past-midnight snack needs. and dick, whose snack needs go way past chocolate bars and fizzy drinks, because he’s currently stood in front of the cereal selection, trying to decide which one of the colorful boxes to pick. because, hey, it’s an important decision, cereal is the kind of thing one can eat at any hour of the day, and if it’s not good, well, then what is the point, really? movement to his right catches his attention, and he is prepared to ignore it at first, but curiosity wins and he turns, looking over at the passerby. where he expects to be met with some stranger, instead he sees jason. one half raised hand clutching the cereal box falls to his side, and an entire minute passes before he thinks of something to say. something completely ridiculous, of course, and nothing at all related to what he actually wants to say. “y’know, everyone always talks about lucky charms like they’re the best thing in the world, but aren’t all the sugars and dyes a potential health risk?”Â
