“ shhh ! ” a wide eyed dahlia desperately ushered her friend to lower her voice in the library. the two had no intention of studying but anika’s level voice was akin to a megaphone in the pin drop silent building. they received a few glares and she caught an annoyed ‘sorority girls’ muttered under someone’s breath. dahlia carefully moved her chair closer to anika so she could duck her head closer to her sister. “ i’ve tried. ” she sheepishly admitted. her eyes wandered to a small table of three girls at the other end of the hall. they were the real reason the witches had bothered to come to the library when they had a perfectly good study room in their ever expanding house. the three girls were immersed in the textbooks sprawled around them and the clutter made it hard to see when a page would flip on its own without a single finger lifted.
“ they won’t budge, ” her lips turned downward in a disproving frown. dahlia wang had a competitive streak and she didn’t like to lose. her manicured nails tapped along the edge of the table impatiently as she chewed the inside of her cheek. in the distance she could make out one of the girls looking over her shoulder at them but quickly turning back. “ i think we should invite them over. ” she suggested. her knees brushed the others as she turned to face her friend with excitement sparkling in her jade eyes. “ i know we don’t usually extend invites but we’re also not usually turned down by other witches. do you think the other girls would mind ? ”
