Disguising himself as a rogue Captain wadering the seas has its disadvantages, and he’s been in dire straits before. A few pirates he could outrun or bribe away, and he’d been sailing before he knew how to walk so harsh conditions on the sea were old hat. But being recognized by just the wrong group of people...that he hadn’t banked on.
He’d thought he was far away enough from his own kingdom to not be recognizable, but the men who took him as he walked through the moonlit Misthaven commons very much knew who he was and that they could get a pretty penny for ransoming him off.
He put up a good fight but it was a matter of numbers; four burly men trumped one one-handed man, as simple as that. Soon a sack was placed over his head and then all went dark when the pound of a fist collided with the side of his head.
When he came to, he was very much chained up (surprise), his whole brace removed (heathens probably couldn’t figure out how to just remove the hook). Killian knew he was in a pretty poor situation but was too proud to beg his captors, even when they entered and, laughing as they did so, knocked the piss out of him until he could feel blood sticky and warm soaking into his clothes, slick on his skin, black spots dancing around his vision, unable to maintain full consciousness.
