i don’t like historical aus.

wait, before you go, let me explain why.  i?  am a historian.  a literal for really-real historian.  i do not have a single historical au for tony outside of the canon marvel ones (1872, noir) because i cannot fake it.  i am trained to squeeze every last bit of research out of anything before i commit to an opinion on it.  that training is why i have a comic panel for every little thing i need to back up.  it’s how it is, it’s how we live (which is no way to live, don’t go into history, kids).

that being true, i can’t just have fun with it.  i can’t just wing it.  i have to research it.  i have to put every last drop of everything factually accurate into that i can or it is no longer of interest to me, and i’m persnickety and just...i can’t.  my hector barbossa, outside of the fantasy bits, is completely historically accurate.  down to how he operates his ship and makes his living and things he’s done and where he comes from and how he got there.  

what i’m saying is...writing a historical au against me is not fun unless you’re willing to take notes on info dumps or do the same amount of research, and let’s be real.  literally none of us has time for that, me included.

so i don’t like historical aus...unless they’re historically accurate.  and that’s why i don’t have any.

Do they go to family’s or have a quiet day in?Oh man, the holidays are Family time. We got the Gamma fam, the Riders, and ofc the Starks! By the end of the day its collapsing into bed for a long ass sleep

who insists on wearing matching ugly christmas jumpers? Lana sdkjfljk LISTEN SHE JUST WANTS THE FULL CHEESE CHRISTMAS

Who waits up until midnight to give the other their present? Ammy, hes proud of his gifts

Who insists on hand-made presents only one year?Robbie, but how hard could it be? They could get real creative with it
