Hwanwoong got eliminated and he only managed to rank up 12 places and at the end, he placed 42. 

I had so much hopes for him to at least be in Top 35 but from the moment I read that Eunki was seen in Gangnam (which also means he’s eliminated) right after the eliminations was filmed, I was already scared for Hwanwoong. I got even more scared by looking at the rumoured list of eliminated trainees. 

I wanted to believe in him but with the amount of screentime he got in the previous episodes, Mnet did not even showcase any of the many things Hwanwoong did. 

Mnet did him dirty from the very beginning: By not airing RBW’s rank evaluation clip, by not airing his dance that landed him to rank B, how was he chosen as the leader for Replay team, him leading and teaching the choreography to rank B team as well as the rank A team. We all know Hwanwoong did such a great job at being the center for Right Round but since Mnet was too focused on the drama which also did not involve him but between Haknyeon and Eunki. 

It’s sad enough seeing people around me including myself wanting to see more Hwanwoong on official broadcast because the boys were also rooting for him during the 1st elimination episode. But too bad, Mnet only gave him the opportunity to shine some place else when it was time for him to go. 

In the latest episode, episode 8, we managed to see him react some more and praise other people as per usual but this time, we got to see how Hwanwoong got the center position for I Know You Know and he got praised to be the best center by Kahi. It broke me to even hear that Hwanwoong said along the lines of, “If I were still here next week”. With the amount of screentime he got in that one episode alone, we got to see how amazing he was. But that was too late. The damage has already been done and a miracle for him to stay in Top 35 did not happen at all. 

At the end, it’s all about timing. If the other talented boys got the equal screentime they deserved, things would have been different. Ahn Joonyoung PD has crossed the line so many times, even from the 6th episode with the little screentime Hwanwoong got, I was already upset and contemplated whether to say bid farewell to seeing Hwanwoong in Produce 101. 

I know it’s not the end of the world and it’s not like Hwanwoong is not going to ever debut but...Hwanwoong is one of the main reasons why I even kept on watching Produce 101. His reactions are funny, he’s too adorable for words, he’s talented to boot and anyone can see that he has a really kind personality. He is a bottle of sunshine that will never stop shining regardless of what stage he stands on.

Even though Hwanwoong is not here anymore, I will still continue watching Produce 101 although I would feel empty because searching for Hwanwoong in every other episodes was like playing hide and seek with him. I will keep supporting him even though he’s not in Produce 101 anymore and will wait for him to debut with the RBW kids. ♥
