What we sought was a space to occupy pure joy, and a space that inspires the driver.

Designated as a seat to fully enjoy the sensory realm, the car features special equipment in areas visible to the driver, audible to the driver, and touched by the body. A dedicated sports seat allows for a precise driving position. The dedicated leather-wrapped steering wheel features grooves carved into the grip material to prevent unnecessary irritation to the palms, and is sewn so that the threads do not cross on the surface. The shift knob and parking brake lever are also made of genuine leather, providing a consistent feel with the steering wheel. The instrument panel and power window switch finishers feature a dedicated metallic dark-tone finisher that exudes a sporty yet luxurious atmosphere, tightening the overall feel of the cockpit. The combination meter has been changed to a dedicated 10,000 rpm scale tachometer with orange illumination to stimulate a sporty mindset. The center console also features a small-diameter triple gauge cluster consisting of a front torque meter, oil pressure gauge, and turbo boost gauge, allowing for accurate monitoring of the vehicle's status.

The RB26DETT engine is famous for its overwhelming performance, featuring a straight-six, 2.6-liter twin-cam 24-valve engine, six-individual throttle bodies, sodium-filled hollow exhaust valves, and twin ceramic turbos with intercoolers. Developed with the aim of creating a first-class racing engine, this unit definitely stands apart from other production engines. Above all, it has power. The response is superb. And the acceleration feels like it never dissipates. Not only is the acceleration response overwhelming at full throttle, but it also responds extremely sharply and flexibly to the driver's right foot movements during normal driving. Furthermore, reducing exhaust resistance is essential for maximizing power, and this is not overlooked with a dedicated exhaust system employing a large-diameter front tube (60.5mm) just downstream of the twin turbos and dual tail tubes.

Electronically controlled torque split 4WD ATTESA E-TS

ATTESA E-TS is designed to "fully utilize the capabilities of all four wheels." Based on a rear-wheel-drive (FR) configuration, it's an electronically controlled torque-split four-wheel drive system that responds instantly to changes in driving conditions and distributes torque to the front wheels as well. The torque distribution is continuously controlled steplessly from 0:100 (FR = rear-wheel drive) to 50:50 (rigid 4WD). In addition to vehicle speed and accelerator opening, the torque distribution to the front wheels is controlled according to values detected by the vehicle speed sensor, front and rear G sensors, and lateral G sensors for each of the four wheels. When lateral G is small, such as when starting, climbing, or accelerating in a straight line, or on low mountain roads such as icy surfaces where the amount of rear wheel slip is large, the torque distribution to the front wheels is increased to generate the stable traction unique to 4WD. It speaks to the driver of the joy of stable, faster, and responsive driving in every driving situation.

Electric SUPER HICAS

The electric SUPER HICAS system promises steering response and stability that is more faithful to the driver's feel. Phase inversion control enhances steering response and stability by controlling the rear wheels in the same direction as or opposite to the front wheels, while lateral G-response control optimizes turning and stability, improving controllability during high-speed cornering. It enhances steering effectiveness in response to steering input from corner entry to exit, reducing understeer. You can experience exceptional handling stability that allows you to drive exactly as you intend along your target line.

In equipping the Stagea with the RB26DETT unit, we adopted the concept of "starting with the wagon" and not just "speed," but "a high-level fusion of driving, cornering, and stopping, resulting in a comfortable speed for the driver." We further enhanced the Stagea's already highly rigid body by adding localized rigidity to fully utilize the 280 horsepower, creating an ultra-high-rigidity wagon body that achieves an even higher level of handling stability and comfort. This includes a front strut tower bar to increase the rigidity of the front suspension mounting points, a tunnel stay connecting the front parts of the left and right side members of the vehicle body, and a triple crossbar consisting of three-part pin stays positioned close to the rear suspension member. In addition, by strengthening the rigidity of the C-pillar and the area around the rear strut, we achieved improved steering responsiveness and turning ability, reduced rear lag, improved road holding, easier grasp of vehicle behavior, and enhanced steering information, deepening the sense of security during normal driving and improving controllability at the limit when desired.

Handling 280 horsepower with confidence. This confidence is only possible with reliable brakes. The ability to respond to sudden, emergency braking. A pedal feel that responds to emergency braking. For this reason, we have adopted a brake system from the prestigious Italian company Brembo. The diamond rib shape used in the ventilation section of the large-diameter brake rotors (front 324 x 30 mm thick / rear 300 x 22 mm thick) provides excellent thermal strength and stress distribution, and achieves a significantly larger surface area compared to conventional radial rectangular ribs. Combined with the use of high-carbon material, it exhibits extremely high heat dissipation and ensures sufficient fade resistance even under harsh continuous braking. Together with high-rigidity calipers, it provides stable braking force and pedal feel even at high speeds.

The suspension system is a "four-wheel multi-link suspension," but it has been tuned to such an extent that it can be described as something completely different from before. The bifurcated upper link that sandwiches the shock absorber has greatly increased camber rigidity. In addition, by tuning the spring constant, stabilizer diameter, shock absorber damping force characteristics, and bushing rigidity, the road contact and steering responsiveness have been improved, resulting in an "expansion of the range in which 280 horsepower can be controlled at will."

Emphasis is placed on the tires as the point of contact with the ground. The "Potenza RE010" 225/50R17 94V is combined with dedicated BBS forged aluminum road wheels (17×7JJ). While the standard equipment comes in silver paint, a more aggressive gunmetal painted wheel is also available as a dealer option
