Grandpa climbs the stairs to the top of the houseboat and inserts a cassette tape into the deck player. It’s Saturday, and dawn just broke. The dock is quiet, everyone still sleeping from partying the night before, but this does not deter the Dock Master from cranking the speaker and pressing play. George Thorogood and the Destroyers “Bad to the Bone” is the summer time alarm clock for “AA Dock” aka “The Party Dock”.
Those summers were the best of my childhood. Raystown was never the same after he got sick. But at least I still have the memories…
