Having a Don Ellis day. He started in the late 50s in Glenn Miller's band and quickly made himself a name in jazz world for his unusual time signatures (ever tried 19/4 or 33/16?). "Electric Bath" was recorded September 19&20, 1967, produced by John Hammond and nominated for a Grammy. It became album of the year 1968 in the Down Beat magazine. Stood the test of time and got sampled by the United Future Organization. The sampled sitar was played by Ray Neapolitan who also joined on Don's following album "Shock Treatment". "Autumn" is another great album and I love the 1970s "At Fillmore" with one of the most interesting versions of "Hey Jude". If you never heard of Don Ellis, jump into the Electric Bath and enjoy! #vinyl #recordcollection #vinyljunkie #recordcollector #jazz #donellis #rayneapolitan #unitedfutureorganization #1967 #johnhammond
