Fanart of Scape / Tall Vista! Planning to draw some Echidna arc related stuff, mostly the clones (albeit taking creative liberties for costumes instead of random clothes / nudity)
Kinda sucks for the Chicago wards that their buddy Raymancer died of radiation poisoning, and the like 2 weeks later Scion cures radiation poisoning for every cape in New Dehli
Damn I never thought of it that way and I still think about Raymancerâs death a lot đ
Like, the thing with his death for me was it only happened because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Emphasis on the latter, since in almost any other version of events he probably wouldâve lived. Echidna rampages a bit earlier (somehow), Panacea wouldâve been around to heal him. If he held out a bit longer, or if the PRT responded more appropriately to the threat earlier, they wouldâve had capes like Scapegoat ready as well. (Actually wait a minute, Scapegoat! wth man why didnât you heal this kid. I mean yeah ig having one of your few healers possibly taken out of action by that would be bad but still damn). And then as you mentioned, Scion just waved his hand spared everyone from that in New Delhi just a couple weeks later.
He didnât die in battle, but days or weeks later, and yet he still went out heroically, giving his friend the encouragement to hold out and not end up with the same fate. I wonder if that memory of him flashed in the minds of the other Wards (at least the original trio) during that last stand against Behemoth, knowing that even if they somehow lived through that day they were likely to meet the same fate? And after, when Scion showed up and cured them, did they feel relief? A bit of anger, maybe, that he couldnât have shown up that day, done the same for their friend? If Raymancer had lived to that point and found out about that, what would he have thought? Funny answer would be âwth manâ
Given what little we know of him, though, heâd probably just be glad his friends wouldnât be joining him so soon.
Decided to do a follow up to this post and add some of the new and old members of the team! Had to take some creative liberties with the designs since they get like 1 descriptor each in the text, but wanted to âcompleteâ the set (yeah ik there are 2 other members namedropped but they donât even get established powers for me to go off of)
