#rayman lore

Reapman, made by Beyonda Veil (Voodoo Mama's headcanon name). Like the heavy fog of a night Reapman carry a air of mystery and otherworldly as he moves between realms. Neither dead nor alive but a enigma of the natural order. While he appears terrifying and have a haunting voice he rarely wish for ill intent on others. To him death isn't something to fear but to be embraced when the time comes. His duty is more so to guide the souls to their final rest while giving them comfort as they pass. When he has free time though he can be quite mischievous.

Mantaray, created by Annetta Fish. Mantaray is the most eager for a fight or challenge out of all the versions of Rayman. He takes even greater joy to watch his enemy squirm or beg for their lives as he tears them to pieces. That's what happened to a certain robot pirate. His victories also feeds into his ego making him believe he's the strongest fighter. However, themat doesn't mean he won't protect the helpless. If he sees someone being targeted he'll attack the assailant like a shark on a blood trail.

Aroma, created by Edith Up. While his mother loves to cook food Aroma likes to eat food, but that food is poison. Aroma has a hyperfixation on anything poisonous or venomous. The strong interest often made others worry for his health but he would be muching on a mushroom like it was a snack. He does have his own motives however, he would use his own body as a test subject to find cures for any ailment so no one else will have to. As ironically as is he takes health very seriously (when it's at the risk of someone else).

Doreimi, created by Holly Luya. Doreimi is far from the strongest, in fact he hates violence. He often believes there are more peaceful ways to deal with conflict. His own way is by encouraging others from his music. On stage he'll play his guitar and sing with such harmony it could sway even the toughest of hearts. But when he's not on stage he'll immediately clam up and retreat on himself. He's extremely socially anxious unless it was family and will use his wings to hide his face.

Borealis, created by Helena Handbasket. Borealis is the most graceful dancer is all of the realms. From ballet to ice skating, he'll dance to spread joy and wonder to his audience. Though he came from a land of ice and snow his optimism shines bright like the warm sun. Whenever someone is in need of help he'll be there in a leap to help. But don't take his kindness as weakness, his temper is just as sharp and cold as ice.

What do you think this implies? Are they the same? Do they have similar origins? Was Ubisoft just lazy and recolored him?

Times Rayman has been captured in order (at least to my knowledge):

1. Rayman 2. When the pirates destroyed the heart of the world, it robbed Rayman of all his powers which left him an easy target for them to capture him. Globox got himself captured so he could smuggle a silver lum from Ly to him. He was able to escape with his help.

2. Rayman vs Cullcut. This was a flash game you could play on your internet browser that released around the same time as Rayman M. It was a french exclusive typing game where Rayman was at risk of being eaten by one of the robots the pirates used to make canned food. The game ends and your score counted if Rayman's cage is lowered enough for cullcut to get him. He would also have to watch Razorwife usher crying baby globoxes to also be consumed by Cullcut. Pretty dark if you ask me.

3. Rayman 3. On Rayman's quest to purge Andre from Globox's stomach, his adventures take him to the desert of the knaarens. While trying to locate Globox after he was captured by the creatures, Rayman was soon captured by them as well. He was caged then sent to the arena where he was forced to fight Reflux. Rayman was released and was made a friend to the knaaren people when he defeated their champion.

4. Rayman Raving Rabbids (Original Console Version). Rayman was captured by Serguei and was locked in a cell. He was forced to perform at their arena and was rewarded with plungers and sometimes won the freedom of the captured baby globoxes. He had to collect enough plungers to reach a window in his cell and managed to escape with enough time, effort, and a whole lot of patience.

5. Rayman Raving Rabbids (Gameboy Advance Version). The Gameboy advance version was a completely unique experience to the raving rabbids series of games with a completely different storyline that was the most faithful to the old prototype. Rayman was captured by the rabbids, locked in a cell, and they took his hands so he couldn't fight back. He was completely helpless. Murfy was the one who went in and rescued him by busting through wooden planks on the bottom of Rayman's cell. He helped Rayman locate his hands and guided him out of the base to reunite with Ly after rescuing their friends.

6. Rayman Raving Rabbids (DS version). Once again captured by rabbids while he was just minding his own business. forced to run obstacle courses in a colosseum to win enough trophies that would allow him to fight "Rabble Droid" and earn his freedom. Rabble droid being a boss version of Serguei.

Here are my designs for Dolph, Pey’j, Jade, Bullfrog, and Ramon!

I figured it would be cool of the ghosts had green as the cohesive color and tie them all together. With Dolph, Pey’j, and Jade I looked into their concept art for references. I also liked the concept art a lot more than the designs in the show. I will admit I have my personal gripes about the designs (mainly Dolph because his legs were way too long and his chin looked like that long pointy chin meme).

While I never played Beyond Good and Evil I can understand why they weren’t happy with how the show approached them. Jade deserved way better than how they especially handled her character. Also if my design of Pey’j looks a little wonky it’s mainly because I tried to make him look bigger than the characters but it threw off the proportions making the head look really big.

You all likely already seen my design of Bullfrog when I made that post about my headcanons but if you haven’t here it is!

And finally Ramon, this is actually my second attempt to his design, the first one looked more like a soggy wet blanket.

Here’s Polokus and his lovely wife the muse of poets! I wanted to make the muse of poets appear like the teensies look more like her. I imagine her running away because her children were “ugly” is a rumor that was created to make sense of why she vanished. Only her eldest refused to believe that and had wandered for thousands of years to search for her, no matter if his body crumbles.

I kinda do?? But it's more so because I lean more into the "Fakeman is Raymesis" theory. So this might go into Raymesis headcanon territory.

•Raymesis was initially taken by Eden a long time ago as a back up if Rayman rebelled or became disobedient. He was held in stasis in a secret lab up until Rayman had his outburst on tv.

•They had downloaded memories into to get him to act more like "their" Rayman. It had worked for a while but then he would get headaches and his old self start to surface. The Rayman persona gets less and less time the more he regain his self.

•He looks almost exactly identical to Rayman save for the colors. They had to bleach and dye his hair, put contacts on him, and dress him in make up to mirror him perfectly.

•Whenever he regains himself he starts lashing out violently like he used to as a teen. He was pissed, scared, and confused. He was like a cornered wild animal.

•He can't have kiwis, the staff learned that the hard way when he started getting hives from eating one. Rayman wasn't allergic.

•They always call the same scientist when he wakes up from the persona, and he's very familiar with her.

•In the small windows he gain consciousness the people he thinks about most is Betilla and Rayman.
