So, my uncle always collected interesting stuff.  This is a car that came from his collection but which I didnât really know much about.  This is what is called a teather car.  These model cars were fitted with gas-powered engines and a cable to teather them to a post and ran around a track at as much as 200mph! This one is a Ray Cox THIMBLE DROME Champion model in white and red with the numberâŠ

In my life I have had many opportunities to be under great leaders who have taught me how to be the person I am today.I am very thankful for the good and the bad leaders in my life. The leader I have decided to choose has a personal and professional connection to me because he started off as my basketball coach and ended up being a father figure to me.Ray Cox has some of the best relationship skills I have witnessed in my 24 years of life. Each trait outlined in the podcast he did at all times and to perfection because he had the passion to change and better every girl he coached. He was very aware as a coach and every weakness he had he chose the perfect assistant coach that had strength in those areas. He never let the weaknesses he had effect the team because he always knew how to make it look like a strength in our eyes.Delegating important tasks with him being honest, consistent, and always motivating us made us want to actually practice and make us love playing for him (Center). Every players needs to be able to trust their coach and know that they will get them to the next level. With him being consistent with his approaches and also motivating us while teaching made every girl that played for him have that same faith in him that I have.Coach Coxâs interpersonal skills were the best I have seen a man coach have.He fathered six girls so he knew all about the changing in bodies because he had been through it all. When it came to coaching he knew when we acted a certain way the reason behind it.He always understood our needs as a team and as individuals. The best part about having him as a coach is he was not like a dictator but he allowed us to have a say in things. He was a very wise leader because he âallow[ed] followers to give input and be part of the process of changeâ (Maxwell 56).Even as a young girl he would ask how we felt about the new play then he would give us options, so we would feel like we were in control even if he already had everything planned out.
Ray Cox was a very effective coach. He has now been coaching for almost 20 years and he and I both have many of trophies to show for it.My junior and senior year in high school we had a championship team back to back and even got asked to play in the Bahamas. My coach has always been viewed in the community as a great man because he coached values and also most of the communityâs daughters. He didnât only teach basketball he taught us girlâs life lessons. If we were to talk back even in the game he would make us do pushups on the court. That taught us respect for authority and also humility because doing push ups during the game is extremely embarrassing; trust me I know.
The main traits in my eyes that are best when it comes to my leader and leadership in general are delegating important tasks and also having good interpersonal skills (Center). These two traits are where my leader stood out above the rest of the people who have been in leadership roles in my life.In regards to delegating important tasks Ray Cox always was honest with my team and me even when we didnât want to hear it.Honesty is a trait that I hold the most value to in life because I believe it comes from a personâs core and it is harder to be honest than tell a lie.One other key aspect is the way he motivated us to want to do better in our lives on and off the court.Coach Cox was always telling us that we could do anything and be whatever we put our minds to.He told us these things so much that everyone had no choice to believe it and in doing that we believed in the team.Leadership in my eyes is when you can pour your heart and soul into your work and inspire people under you to do the same.
