Italian artist Pixel Pancho specializes in painting large walls, creating robotic creatures from an earthy color palette, lending them an oddly retro-futuristic sense of something ancient rather than sci-fi. Taught by his hobbyist painter grandfather he knew from a young age that his future lay in art, so it makes sense that when the RAW Project was launched in Wynwood, Miami to expose urban youth to the arts and provide  them greater arts education opportunities, Pixel Pancho was on board to help. Urbanite says this 2014 portrait of a robot couple “seeming to pose for a photograph from a long-passed era” reflects one of the goals of the RAW Project creators, fostering “a conversation and a process that bridges the old and new Wynwood through the very medium that has given it its newfound fame.”  @pixelpancho  @therawproject_
