door swinging open revealed the familiar face she found herself unable to banish from her thoughts, gaze landing upon them finally allowing her to release the breath she found herself holding.   “ can i come in? ”   the habit of finding herself at their place no longer needed introduction. letting go of them in turn meant opening her heart to others, but after sitting through hours upon hours of dates talking a little too much about themselves, she found herself longing for the most real thing she had ever known. and this hadn’t been the first time.   “ i don’t really want to go home. ”

“ oh   —  nuh uh. what do you think you’re doing? ”   tone of voice was laced with a hint of jesting as hands reached for her waist, an attempt to draw bodies closer together. not that a single inch of adela moved to stop them, rather their own hand reaching to comb the loose strand of hair from their face.   “ last time i heard you snubbed me in that interview from last week. what’s the thing you called me again? ”   head tilted to the side as she pondered.
