@ravencharm: ALLY! I got all excited when I saw your comment! Hahaha! Thank you! (: Man, I so get that. Life likes to happen when we least expect it. Iâm sorry youâre dealing with stuff. I am here if you ever need to talk. <3
Same! I couldnât believe you were actually back on my dash! Itâs so awesome to have you back around! <3
Bleh, stuff. I just returned from a trip abroad, and Iâm trying to find a job (and thatâs hard when you have no previous experience, limited availability, and a chronic illness that leaves you in pain quite a bit of the time). Iâve been trying to promote my website (to hopefully get some writing/editing commissions) and also my new Redbubble account.
On top of all that, my brother just moved back in with me. And to call the living situation âtoxicâ would honestly be an understatement. Heâs always been extremely difficult.

Thanks for the asks! I do love it when I actually get some. :)
1) is there a story youâre holding off on writing for some reason?A few actually. I have a journal, Plot Bunny Central. Itâs basically a train station for my ideas in waiting. Ideas that just arenât ready yet. Like little plants, not grown enough to be re-potted.
4) favorite character youâve writtenThis one is hard. I like writing complex characters. But it can be hard sometimes to get into their heads. And I like writing villains. Thereâs something fun about writing a character who is just plain nasty. Ultimately Iâm not sure I have a favorite character to write at the moment. In my current project itâs either Dante or Luana-Tiago (neither of which are villains) because they both have their own complexities that draw  and push them to and from each other.
11) what aspect of your writing do you think has most improved since you started writing? My diversity/representation has come a long way. I started with bland white girls who were tougher than the guys with clear love triangle potential. That story actually has some potential still but it needs some serious work, starting with the characters. And my tropes have come a long way. I used to have things in my writing that i realize now are problematic. I probably still have problematic things in my writing, but I try very hard to be more aware now.
Basically a continuation of the previous scene, or at least what happens immediately following it.
It was rather ironic; the man who hated being stared at the most was now the one doing the staring. Vivienne supposed it was only natural. After being told that his enemies were now his allies, and that they came from another world, who wouldnât stare a bit? Still, she found it funny.
No one paid Albel much mind aside from her. Being the newest member of the âgood guysâ, Maria didnât understand why everyone kept the swordsman at armsâ length, but even she shied away from him at times. Not that Vivienne blamed her.
But since everyone else ignored him, that left him free to stalk along a few steps behind the rest of them. No one seemed to realize exactly when heâd ended up behind them.
Somewhere along the way, theyâd stopped being wary of attack, and maybe heâd slipped behind. Maybe he did it on purpose. Either way, it made it easier for Vivienne to fall in step beside him.
âSurely you mustâve known something was off,â She commented, keeping her voice low to avoid attracting attention, âWe look nothing like the Aquarians, in dress or by choice of weapon.â
She expected the answer she got; silence.
âCan you teach me how to wield a katana?â
The sudden question caused an eyebrow to quirk upward, and Albelâs eyes narrowed as he studied the woman beside him.
âWhy would you want to? Iâve seen what your fire blade can do.â
âItâs called a Lightsaber. And true, I do prefer my weapon. But at least you responded to that. Itâs the first time Iâve heard you speak since we left Airyglyph.â
âSo you were angling for conversation?â
âMaybe,â Vivienne shrugged, âAt least you arenât boring.â
Albelâs gaze moved over the so-called âcompanionsâ who walked before them with a sneer. So he was not alone in his appraisal of them.
âIâm surprised to hear you speak ill of your friends.â
âNever said they were my friends. I only met them when I came to this planet.â
âTo this planetâŚâ
He repeated her words with a curiosity, and almost a softness that she wouldnât have expected from him. Was he still processing this new concept? It wouldnât be too surprising. No one here was supposed to know about the existence of life on other worlds. Not yet. They were still so underdeveloped. But what could be done about it now?
âHow many other planets are there?â
âSo manyâŚâ She chuckled, âMore than any one person could see in their lifetime.â
âThat sounds like a challenge.â
âYou would see it that way, wouldnât you?â
The two fell silent as the group reached the city gate. Nel glanced back at them, then inched closer to Maria. Whatever she may have said to the younger woman, Vivienne couldnât hear, but it caused the other to glance back as well. The women locked eyes for a moment, but Maria finally looked away again and shrugged at Nel.
âThey donât think I know what Iâm doing.â
âThatâs because you donât,â The words were delivered with a barely-there growl; a warning, but one she chose to ignore.
âI can handle myself. What exactly do you think Iâm trying to do? I told you, all I wanted was a decent conversation.â
Albel said nothing to that, and the pair followed the others to the inn silently. Just before going their separate ways for the evening, the swordsman blocked the Jediâs path briefly.
âYou have a ship?â
âI do.â
âTake me.â It wasnât a request.
âSoon as this is over. Every planet we can manage.â
Albel nodded and went on his way. Vivienne didnât see him again for the rest of the night.
Under a read-more because itâs a bit long. This is the scene when the party returns to Airyglyph to meet up with Albel. This is a rough draft, and it needs work, but I think itâs decent enough to post.
Since it doesnât seem obvious here, Vivienne is one of my Jedi OCs from KOTOR. Sheâs not Revan, though. Alongside Revan, I had two other Jedi OCs.
When they reached the castle, Woltar was waiting as expected. Albel was nowhere in sight.
âHeâs in the dungeon currently,â The old man informed them, âThis way.â
Just those words were enough to set Vivienne on edge. She knew everyone else could feel it too, that something wasnât right about the whole situation. Why was Albel in the dungeon? She was quite sure he wouldnât be part of any interrogations or torturing, but she could think of no other reason for his current location.
âI donât like this,â She murmured, âThis isnât right.â
âWhat isnât right is that weâre working with Albel the Wicked.â Nel put in.
Vivienne resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the comment. She was getting really tired of Nel. She wasnât afraid to speak her mind, and while normally that was a good thing in Vivienneâs opinion, it seemed that Nelâs mind was too constantly focused on complaining about Albel.
It wasnât that she could be blamed for that. After everything theyâd been through, after everything theyâd seen⌠even Nelâs friends had suffered at Albelâs hand. But complaining about it when there was little they could do was just a waste of time.
And unlike Nel, Vivienne knew that Albel was doing what he believed was right, and wasnât only doing it to be ruthless. After all, Nel and her colleagues were the ones who stole the copper ore from an enemy mine. Of course that enemy would retaliate.
âItâs not right,â Cliff commented, glancing at young younger bluenette with a sympathetic shrug, âBut what can you do?â
She knew he didnât care as much as she did. He didnât like Albel either. Not to say that Vivienne did like him, but still, she at least understood his position. And Cliff seemed to realize that Albel wasnât supposed to be in the dungeon. Nel didnât appear to care.
âIâve got an errand for you, boy.â Woltarâs voice echoed in the stillness, and as Vivienne stepped into the torture chamber, she prepared herself for whatever she might be about to face.
As expected, Albel wasnât in the middle of some rigorous interrogation; instead, he was the one with shackles around his wrists.
âWhy?!â
Woltar glanced up at the angry cry, coming from Fayt, of all people.
âHe has been charged with treason for letting you escape from the Kirlsa Training Facility. Not only that, he let you get away with copper ore stolen from our mine.â
âWouldnât exactly call that letting us get awayâŚâ Cliff muttered but was ignored as Woltar turned back to Albel.
âOf course, the one who brought the charges against him is no longer in this worldâŚâ
âVox, right?â
Cliff was again ignored as Woltar spoke to Albel again. The swordsman had yet to raise his head or even acknowledge Woltar standing before him.
âYou have been given a mission to accompany these people to the Urssa Lava Caves. If you complete this task, you will be acquitted of all charges.â
At this Albel finally looked up, slowly turning his gaze to the five waiting near the door.
âWith those scum?! Those⌠Aquarian scum?! You must be joking!â He lunged toward the older man, only to be held back by his chains. âYouâre senile, old man â theyâre the enemy!â
âThe situation has changed while you have been imprisoned. Airyglyph and Aquaria are currently observing a truce.â
Albel was incredulous. A truce? Vox had actually agreed to a truce? That warmonger lived for battle, for bloodshed. There was no way he would agree!
But⌠Vox was dead? And those Aquarians hadnât been the ones to kill him? Impossible! No one else in the world was skilled enough to take Vox in battle aside from Albel himself!
âThey are not of this world.â
The words left Albel gaping. From another world? Had the old man finally lost it?
But regardless of whether he believed or not, Woltar insisted that the threat was real, and if Albel did nothing, the entire world would be wiped out.
âThen I must go.â
He wasnât happy about it, but he said nothing further as the shackles were released, and he was freed once more.
âYou must take these Aquarians to the Lava Caves and tame the Marquis.â
âThe Marquis?! Youâre joking! That monster?!â
Albelâs words didnât exactly fill anyone with confidence. Just what were they getting into with this plan? Was it more of a long shot than theyâd already expected?
âThe way you brag of your skills, I would think this would be no trouble for you.â Woltar commented, âIâm sure your father wouldâve risen to the challenge.â
âThatâs enough!â
In a flash Albelâs good hand had snatched up to grab the old manâs collar. Woltar did nothing, and eventually Albel let go. The old man continued on as if nothing had happened.
âThen everything is settled.â He glanced at the others again. âTry to get along.â
âAah, what can you do?â
âI feel like Iâm missing something here,â Maria commented, âBut Iâll do my best.â
Albel stalked to the door without a word, only to be stopped by Nel as he tried to pass.
âI donât like this anymore than you do, Albel. But Her Majesty has given the order, so I must obey. Just donât hold us back.â
Albel merely growled and continued past her. Everyone else followed him out, Woltar last of all.
âWell, if used in the right manner, he should be of some service. At least you shall be better off than if you did not have him.â
âThereâs no doubt of his skill, at least.â
âWe donât mind if you work him hard. I suppose it would be best if you did that, for he has been lacking in exercise of late.â
The manâs laughter rang in Vivienneâs ears, and it took all her willpower not to turn around and punch him in the face. Here was the man who was supposed to have looked after Albel after his father died, and this was how he treated him, how he spoke about him?
âLetâs just get out of here.â Mariaâs words were soothing. Vivienne shook off the echo of the old manâs laughter and followed the others out.
Albel still held his position at the front of the pack. Probably because no one trusted him to be behind them. If he were going to try something, at least theyâd see it coming this way. But it was clear from his unsteady gait that captivity had taken itâs toll on him. And just how long had he been locked in that dungeon, anyway?
Absently Vivienne remembered talking to Tynave before the battle, hearing that Albel wouldnât be joining. Sheâd known something was wrong then; there was no way Albel would simply sit out of a battle like that. Had he been locked up even then? That was weeks ago!
âMaybe we should get a room at the inn tonight?â Vivienne suggested. âItâs been a long day, and with the trial we have ahead of us, Iâm sure we could all use the rest.â
âNot until we reach Kirlsa,â Albel growled. âIâm not staying in this city and itâs filthy inn.â
Everyone looked to Fayt, whoâd somehow become the one to make the final decisions for most of their time on the planet. He glanced at Albel, then at the rest of them and shrugged.

18: I like to think itâs a gorgeous, enigmatic cat, but tbh itâs probably a scrawny kitten that sleeps most of the time and spends the rest of the time knocking stuff over and begging for attention
25: YesânoâI donât know. I would probably be happy alone, but my survival skills are negligible, and Iâd probably sleep 24/7 and get nothing done, which would spike my anxiety. Also if I lived somewhere cold, I would cry a lot, and if I donât have my caffeine on the regular, my head gets all throbby and my emotions get all angry.

@ravencharm The facility was a bit confusing the first time I went through, but I eventually had the place memorized. Oh! What did you think of Albel? Sadly, no, Iâve not seen TFA. I wanted to while I was in London, but never got the chance.
ravencharm replied to your post: Any kickboxing-experts here? Or martial arts,...
Unfortunately thereâs no real magical pinch or punch! Also, Iâve never blacked out from an elbow strike to the head/ear/face. Feel free to ask questions if you want! Iâve been taking full contact karate for a long time.
Yeah, thatâs what I thought... We just see it in movies all the time, but Iâve always found it a bit unrealistic and I donât want anything unrealistic in my book (even though I write sci-fi, but hussssh). And thatâs so amazing!! Maybe I should teach my characters karate instead... Make them badass like you :DÂ
